GIA Privacy Policy
In short
- Everything you log in GIA — your cycle, symptoms, pregnancy, notes — is stored only on your phone.
- We have no server that receives this data. We do not see it and cannot see it.
- We show no ads, sell no data, and use no advertising or analytics trackers.
- The app may download articles from our server. To do that it tells us nothing about you.
- This website sets no cookies and does not track visitors.
1. Who we are
GIA is an app for tracking your cycle and pregnancy. The GIA team is responsible for the data processing described in this policy.
Contact us: support@mygia.app.
2. What data exists and where it is stored
Data you enter in the app
Period dates, symptoms, mood, sleep, sex logs, weight, blood pressure, pregnancy data, notes, questions for your doctor, your name, age, and details about your children.
It is stored only on your device. GIA does not send it to us or to anyone else.
It can leave your phone only when you choose:
- iPhone backup. If backups are on in your iPhone settings (to iCloud or a computer), GIA data is part of that backup — just like the data of other apps. You and Apple control the backup; we have no access to it. Tip: turn on Advanced Data Protection in your iCloud settings so that not even Apple can read the backup.
- Backup file. Under “Privacy & data” you can save your data to a file encrypted with your password. Where you keep it is up to you. Without the password nobody can open it — not even us.
- Apple Health. If you turned this on, GIA writes your periods to Apple Health on your device and reads wrist temperature from it. We do not receive this data and never use it for advertising.
- Doctor report. You can create a PDF and send it to whoever you choose. The file is not encrypted — send it only to people you trust.
- Partner invitation code. It holds only the mode, the due date (for a pregnancy) and your name, if you added it. Whom to show the code to is your decision; we do not receive it.
Data our server receives
When the app downloads articles, our server sees only a technical request: which section and which language. The request does not include your name, device identifier, cycle phase, pregnancy week or age. The app downloads the whole section and picks what to show you on the phone itself.
Like any server on the internet, our hosting provider temporarily sees the IP address a request comes from. We do not link it to you and do not keep it longer than needed to run and protect the server.
GIA Plus subscription
Subscriptions are handled and charged by the app store (the App Store or Google Play). The store tells us only that a subscription is active, its plan and its end date — without your name or payment details. If you redeemed an offer code, we count it in the campaign's overall statistics without linking it to you.
This website
The mygia.app website consists of plain pages: it sets no cookies and contains no analytics, advertising pixels or content embedded from other sites. The hosting provider, like any other, temporarily sees a visitor's IP address.
If you email us, we receive your address and what you wrote, and use it only to reply. Please do not include health information in your emails: we do not need it to help you.
What we do not collect
Advertising identifiers, location, contacts, photos. The app contains no ad networks, no Facebook SDK and no third-party analytics.
3. Why, and on what legal basis
| What | Why | Basis |
|---|---|---|
| Data on your phone | So the app works: cycle predictions, calendar, articles relevant to you | Processing happens on your device only; we do not receive this data |
| Technical requests for articles | To show up-to-date articles | Legitimate interest |
| IP address in logs | Running and protecting the server and the website | Legitimate interest |
| Subscription confirmation from the store | To unlock paid features | Performance of a contract |
| Emails to support | To reply to you | Legitimate interest |
4. Who we share data with
Data about your health — no one: we do not have it.
Our providers keep the server and the website running. They see technical requests only and act under data processing agreements.
The “Watch” button in the exercise section opens a video on YouTube. From that point Google's privacy policy applies.
5. How long data is kept
Data on your phone — until you delete it or delete the app. Technical server logs — for a limited time needed to run and protect the server. Emails to support — until the question is resolved and for no more than a year after that.
6. Your rights
You have the right to know what data about you is processed, to get a copy, to correct or delete it, to restrict or object to processing, and to complain to a data protection supervisory authority.
Because your data is stored on your phone, you exercise most of these rights yourself:
- View and correct — in the app.
- Get a copy — “Privacy & data” → “Export my data”.
- Delete — “Privacy & data” → “Delete all data”. This erases everything from the phone, along with the periods GIA wrote to Apple Health.
For any question write to support@mygia.app. We will reply within 30 days.
7. Children
GIA is intended for people aged 16 and over. The “Raising a daughter” section is advice for the mother; the only thing it stores about the daughter is her age, and that too stays on the phone.
8. Security
Data on your phone is protected by iPhone features (passcode, device encryption). You can turn on Face ID lock in GIA. We recommend setting a passcode on your phone: without one, data on the device is not encrypted.
9. Changes
If we add a feature that changes what is described here (for example an account or an AI chat), we will update this document before it ships and tell you in the app.
